Testosterone Propionate
Testosterone propionate, sold under the brand name Testoviron among others, is an androgen and anabolic steroid (AAS) medication primarily used in the treatment of low testosterone levels in men. It is also widely used in the bodybuilding community to enhance muscle mass, strength, and performance. It is administered via intramuscular injection, typically once every two to three days.
How It Works
Testosterone propionate is a synthetic androgen and anabolic steroid. It acts as an agonist of the androgen receptor (AR) — the biological target of androgens like testosterone and dihydrotestosterone (DHT). As a testosterone ester, it functions as a short-acting prodrug of testosterone, making it a natural and bioidentical hormone replacement.

History and Usage
Discovered in 1936 and introduced for medical use in 1937, testosterone propionate was the first testosterone ester to be marketed. It remained the dominant form until the 1960s, when longer-acting esters such as testosterone enanthate, cypionate, and undecanoate became more popular.
Today, while it’s less common in medical use, testosterone propionate continues to be favored by bodybuilders and athletes for its fast results and potent anabolic properties. However, non-medical use is generally illicit and regulated under controlled substance laws in many countries.
